The Bat - Stronger than the Deer
Underground Cave Systems
Permanent Blessings & Stronger Enemies
The Bat features distinctive pink wings, purple fur, and piercing white glowing eyes. It has a humanoid silhouette that suggests intelligence beyond typical forest monsters.
The Bat's primary attack is a devastating scream that travels as a shockwave toward players. Before screaming, it telegraphs the attack by spreading its wings and raising its head.
Important: The Bat cannot be killed, only avoided or temporarily stunned!
When you see the Bat preparing to scream, immediately take cover behind solid objects like walls, pillars, or trees. Use your flashlight to stun it by quickly flashing light in its face.
The Bat is blind but has enhanced hearing, so audio cues are essential for detection.
The main cave entrance appears randomly on the map from Day 1, marked by a cave icon with a yellow exclamation point. Secondary entrances require upgraded campfire and TNT to access.
The caves are extremely dark, requiring a flashlight (Old or Strong Flashlight) to navigate. Players must activate glowing crystals with their flashlight to illuminate areas and progress through the tunnels.
Fireflies can be collected to recharge your flashlight battery.
The caves contain stronger, more devoted cultist variants that hit harder and display more aggressive patterns than surface cultists. These enemies respawn after some time at specific locations.
Deeper regions contain even tougher variants!
Scattered throughout the cave system are statues that grant powerful permanent blessings. These buffs significantly improve your survival chances in the main forest.
Increases daytime duration and shortens nighttime, giving you more time to explore and gather resources.
Decreases the chance of rain, reducing weather-related challenges during your survival.
Reduces the negative effects of lightning events, protecting you from environmental hazards.
Slows your hunger rate, decreasing the frequency at which you need to eat to survive.
